Creative Photography Contest

For my first entry in "Creative Photography", I have chosen this Chinese Lantern flower. I just love the color and other-worldly quality of this photograph. I photographed it in a homemade light tent in full sunlight, which enhances the saturation and back lights beautifully while keeping the sunlight soft and diffuse.

It's an impressive flower!. I'm sure there's a pixie somewhere who would love to wear it to the ball. :)

(Thanks for coming by for the Comment-Bomb - it made my day)

Thats a cool shot. The detail and all. However, my untrained eye describe that the lighting is a bit too flat. Would love some shadows.

Anyway, great effort on the DIY light tent!

Jennifer Robin said...

Jenz,

Shadows would not have been appropriate in this shot. The lighting achieved with the light tent is exactly the effect I was after, and is perfect to my well trained eye. Thanks for commenting on the detail, I love that element of this shot too.

and, I searched and searched for the coloured copy of the black and white tiger lily I posted, and I cannot seem to find it. :( I was hoping to show you it, since you had mentioned it. Very sorry on that one.

Hi Jennifer,

This is a stunning macro shot.

I think this is the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on.

I really admire your photography choices and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.
