Muse on the Loose

That's muse, not moose, Cupcake. My muse is back, and am I glad to see her. No one person, place, or thing has inspired my work quite like her. Growing up with Nana as a photographer has rendered Cupcake the ideal model. It doesn't hurt that she is a natural at posing and loves to dress up; she also happens to photograph very well and that makes her a delight to work with.

I told the Princess awhile back that she was going to have to learn how to use a camera, and now that she is here for the summer, the lessons have begun. Witness her first try at photographing grass with Nana.
She (naturally) requested her own watermark. Click to enlarge and see the detail she captured!

WOW! She did a very nice job with the grass photo. I always loved giving my daughter the camera and seeing what photos she took. It's interesting to see things through a kids viewer.

That's a lovely quiet, personal portrait. She is a really great kid and what fun to have her in your life! Nice photo... if you are not sure about the scal, at first it looks like Pampas Grass, the big kind!

That is a nice photograph! Oh, and your's too Jennifer Robin. hehe.

Actually the photo of KK is much like so many of yours in the way it captures the soft lighting. I am thinking you have a camera that captures the light well. My new Nikon dslr, admittedly not a top of the line model, has a much more harsh edge to it. Great on shots of soccer or basketball games, but not so great on shots where the soft quality of the light needs to be accurately reproduced.

As always I am envious of the unobtrusive way you are able to do your watermarks. I need to go back to school on mine and make it less objectionable.

Cupcake should have her own watermark. She's a very good eye. Your photograph of her is gorgeous. Glad you everything went well with the flood.

Cupcake deserves her watermark. She's a natural photographer. The photograph of her is beautiful, very painterly. I'm glad that you got through the flood so quickly.

Wow KK, the picture you took is beautiful! I think I might even see a chipmunk peeking through the grass, hehe. You are very lucky to be learning photography from your nana. I can't wait to see other pictures you take this summer!
