Great photos. I love blackberries! We used to scrounge around in the woods for hours and end up with lots of mosquito bites and scratches and a handful of warm, juicy blackberries. But it was always worth it. A friend of mine has a friend who has a farm full of wild blackberries... we're going picking next week. I can't wait.
Robin, I love the detail in these pictures. The color and focus is great. One suggestion would be to deepen your depth of focus just a shade to keep more of the main subject flower in focus. Othwise, these are great shots.
Lee, thanks for your lovely comment and suggestion. Unfortunately, I'm not always dealing with just my depth of field. I'm inevitably shooting when the wind is blowing as well, and frequently do not have the ideal lens on my camera for the subject matter either. It's a long walk out to the mailbox, and even when the conditions are not ideal, I do my best to capture the natural beauty around me with what a I am carrying at that moment.
Very nice photos even if they might not be technically perfect. It's the composition and actual situation that counts most... photography is all about capturing the moment and emotion of the second!
Such lovely photos, and I love the bee. I used to go blackberry picking often as a child. Lovely memories of prickly bushes and juicy, fat blackberries. We ate more than we put in our tubs. Mum and dad did the serious picking ;O)
A lover of art in all it’s forms, I strive to express myself in a manner that allows others to see the world through my eyes. By Jennifer Robin and Robin’s Woods are a homage to my darling mother whose greatest unfulfilled passion was self expression. I hope I make her proud.
Jennifer Robin is the name that my darling mother had chosen for me. Alas, she was overruled, but I honor her by using it here and whenever I can. Curiously enough, Jennifer and Robin have the same meanings as my given first and middle names. Some things were just meant to be.
Where I live...
Robin’s Woods, of course. My husband and I call a log cabin in the midst of our 42 acres of forest our home, and are amongst thousands more wooded acres. It is our very own personal paradise, definitely a wish-come-true.

What a lovely flower. I miss blackberries. You don't even see them in the markets here that often, let alone growing wild.

The bee picture is priceless. Beautiful as usual.
I pan to pick some blackberries later today. They grow wild along all the irrigation ditches here. Plenty to share with the birds!
